📅 Advance Preparation

  • [ ] Register to Vote/Verify Your Status: Register to vote by Oct 5 and/or confirm your active status and details. Go to GoVote.KY.gov

  • [ ] Select Your Voting Method: Do

  • [ ] Request for Time Off Work if Necessary: Kentucky law requires employers to allow employees at least four hours of time off unpaid to vote on Election Day, if the employee requests it with advance notice.

  • [ ] Make a Plan to get to the Polls: Select a polling place and determine how you will get to the polls. If necessary, Request a ride to the polls

  • [ ] Confirm you have required PHOTO ID: Verify your PHOTO ID meets the State’s requirements. Some non-photo ids such as SNAP card, SSN card and known person are no longer allowed.

  • [ ] Study Your Sample Ballot: Research candidate profiles and ballot measures early using OurPeopleOurVote

🗳️ Voting Day Success

  • [ ] Verify Polling Hours: Double-check when doors open and close so you don't miss the window.

  • [ ] Pack Your Required ID: Place your approved identity document directly into your wallet the night before.

  • [ ] Map Out Your Transit: Plan your route, schedule your departure, and secure a ride if necessary.

  • [ ] Know Your Rights: Your voter rights are outlined here. Remember that if you are in line before closing time, you retain the legal right to vote.
