Data Centers continue to raise issues for the environment and for the areas in which they may be located.  The public is invited to attend hearings August 5, 6, and 10 at multiple locations on the revised Data Center regulations in Louisville and to provide feedback.

After reviewing public feedback, the Louisville Metro Office of Planning is recommending updates to the proposed data center regulations that can be found here https://louisvilleky.gov/government/office-planning/data-centers

The updated draft follows more than 3600 comments submitted during the 30-day public comment period for the draft, which was released in June 2026. Planning staff also spent months researching the topic and engaging with the community to help shape the proposed regulations. In fall 2025, the Office of Planning held six public listening sessions and continued reviewing proposed regulations in peer cities to help address key issues raised throughout the process.
